A hallmark feature of our increasingly technological age is that certain conveniences become needs. 

These needs are true needs for many in their current life situations. Wi-Fi, like the smartphones that not even two decades ago were not in the public consciousness, has become one such example of a convenience-turned-need. 

Wi-Fi is a true need in that what its access and use grants goes beyond the wants and desires of its dependents. Yes, streaming the World Cup may feel very much like a need in certain geographic pockets of the globe, but at the end of the day it is a mere desire.

Here is why this matters: A.I. is driving change in just about every industry imaginable. When it comes to Wi-Fi solutions, A.I. can certainly play a role in ensuring that your Google Meet meets do not go ballistic at the most inopportune moments. 

Wi-Fi Will Need A.I. More Than Ever As Time Goes On

As we continue to add Internet-capable devices to our arsenal of work and play gadgets and gizmos, the burden will fall on wireless networks and network solutions to keep these devices connected.

If A.I. is looking for patterns among events, then it can well figure out just what factors affect the occurrence or nonoccurrence of certain events. In addition, how subtle changes can lead to significantly different event outcomes. 

Yes, in case you are wondering, this involves quite a bit of mathematics and probability calculations. 

And these calculations are all done with inhumanly fast speed and accuracy and efficiency. 

Why A.I. Troubleshooting Is Attractive to Network Providers in Terms of Network Solutions

Specific “things” at issue here are events where the Wi-Fi went haywire or suffered unusually low upload and download speeds.

In something like an office setting, you can see why this can be of such importance. It is more than people streaming the World Cup on their lunch break. 

This could mean interrupted or lost connections during business meetings. 

It could also mean losing important files that are being uploaded or downloaded to cloud-based services. 

Yes, our dependence on Wi-Fi may have many conveniences that it continues to afford us, but the problems stack up if the Wi-Fi connection is not as strong as it ought to be. 

And, by the way, it is not really the network providers that get to decide the standards for good Wi-Fi service. It is the network users. But most good network providers are already well aware of this. 

IT departments will simply have A.I. parse the relevant data to determine what could potentially be causing any of the network issues. 

As mentioned above, this can be done with lightning-fast speed with A.I. This is in contrast to the human IT workers who, without this assistance, may spend a full day trying to resolve a Wi-Fi troubleshooting task

With Wi-Fi as an assistant, these IT workers may be able to solve these issues much quicker, making the dependency on Wi-Fi less risky for daily business operations.
